Insane Deals at Kroger

So, last week I had to shop on Wednesday, which I usually try to avoid, but it was a GREAT day! Tons of markdowns and it was an extra discount week for associates, too! Yippee. Also, it was the free part of the giftcard, so ALL of it was free!! Had to take two pictures, cause it wouldn't all fit in one!

Publix Freebies from Last Week

Rite Aid Last Week

Believe it or not, after coupons and rebates...we got PAID to buy all of this!!!

Some of our deals from the last week

We had so many groceries in the house, that all I had to do as far as REAL grocery shopping goes, was a quick trip to Kroger where I picked up markdown produce, milk, bread, and a few organics. Total $9.

So then we did a lot of "freebie" shopping for the week and are we ever stocked up on breakfast and snack foods now!

Freebies from Publix

Thanks to BOGO sales combined with some great coupons!
These are the freebies from the trip:

  • 12 boxes of Pop-Tarts
  • 8 boxes Eggo Waffles
  • 4 boxes of pasta
  • 2 bags of chicken sandwiches (these were BOGO, but both ended up being free thanks to a TMF peelie!)
  • 1 skillet meal
Total for everything we were buying would have been around $83, but after coupons and sales and rebates it was about $10 including tax!

CVS Runs

This was a couple different runs to CVS (Matt did most of it this week!)...thanks to coupons (and overage), ECBs, and other deals the only things that we actually had to pay for here were two of the dish soaps--for .38 cents each!

Walgreens Freebies

Walgreens had some GREAT deals this week on Kellogg's items that also had some great coupons in the paper! We could have gotten a lot more but there's only so much store credit you can use. :-)

  • yup, 10 boxes of Nutri-Grain bars
  • four boxes of Special K bars
  • four boxes of cereal
  • two boxes of Rice Krispie Treats
  • one Glade candle

I also took MIL to WAGS this week and showed her how to do the deal--she made $3+ by buying 10 free Kellogg's items!

I still need to figure out how much all this stuff would have cost regularly, but I know it would have been a LOT more than $0! :-)

Rite Aid FAR Stuff

Matt did the Rite-Aid run this week, too. ALL of this was free after coupons and rebates!

Okay...

...so I've fallen so far behind in so little time that it's obvious to me I'm not going to be able to keep up this blog along with the other ones and my DT work. So...I'm going to make a new goal of posting here twice a week. One post with my deals from the week and one post with a WW-friendly deal. :-) Yes, you can coupon and lose weight--or at least I'm going to try!!!

Saturday Craziness

Okay...today we shopped...and shopped...and shopped...
Craziness. Here are our freebies for the day (minus two soy joy bars that we ate on the way--and yes, that's an empty tea bottlee--also consumed on the way):
Ace Hardware:
Total Regular Price: 58.19
Total After Sales, Rebates, Coupons: 10.09
Savings: 48.10
We tried our Ace first thing in the morning, but they weren't participating in the sale, so we didn't get to an Ace store until the afternoon. They were out of just about all the FAR sales, so we just shopped around in the other stuff. My favorite score: The OFF spray is reg. 6.49, with sales, rebate, and coupons I got it for .44 cents a can! Here's what we got:

Kroger:
Total Reg Price: 11.48
Total after Sales/Coupons/etc.: .90
Total Savings: 10.58
Here's what we got there:

Bath and Body Works

Total Reg. Price: 24.50

Total after sales/coupons: 3.54

Total savings: 20.96

Two transactions here, Matt and I each did one.

Also did 3 CVS store, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, and Target...I may post them later, but right now I'm TIRED! :-)

Publix Trip 6/24

Just a picture of the freebies here: ketchup, coffee and chicken were BOGO and I had coupons as well as a $5/35 coupon (total before coupons came to JUST over 35, so it worked!) With overages I was able to sqeeze the extra chicken and one bag of veggies into the freebie column. Also got lots of on the vine tomatoes for .99/lb YUM!
Total cost (after coupons, etc): 16.66

Target Trip 6/24

10 boxes Kellogg's cereal and two packages of Ziplocks

Total after coupons/rebates/GC: 8.59 (not as good as some I've seen online, but I only had coupons for a couple of the cereals). Still, counting the ziplocks as free, that's only .86 cents a box for cereal. I'm going to try this deal a couple more times this week to stock up on breakfasts for everyone for beach week. :-)

It can be done!

I've been intrigued by the idea of CVS-ing for a while. I've been "researching" it for the last couple of weeks. Finally, last week, I decided to give it a try and buy cereal there. It was a pretty good deal and I tried using printable coupons at Wal-Mart and Target for a few freebie items as well. It was cool, but nowhere near as cool as this week!

This week, I spent several hours lining up my coupons, deals, and grocery list and hit CVS, Publix, and Kroger this morning. I got all of my groceries for the week, dog food for the week, $18 worth of replacement heads for our toothbrushes, and various other items for under $40! I didn't think it could be done!

In addition, it looks like the purchases at Publix qualify to get a free $10 Home Depot gift card! (And we have plenty of projects lined up to use it on :-)) And the $25 I spent at Kroger was all at the end of a stimulus gift card--the free part! So if you add in that, we got our groceries plus...all for less than $5!!!
